- Taste! Farm raised poultry is fresher and better tasting than grocery store poultry and eggs.
- It's better for you! Our birds are fed all natural feeds with nothing added. No water or salt is added during processing (except for smoked poultry.) Farm raised poultry is 100% natural!
- It's better for the birds! Our birds are raised on range with room to roam, never caged. Birds allowed access to the outdoors are able to act more like birds: They get exercise and get to add variety to their diet by foraging for tasty bugs and weeds. This results in stronger, healthier, hardier, and happier birds!
- It's better for the environment! Buying locally produced food reduces wasteful transportation. Also, livestock waste and by-products are composted and returned to the earth.
- It promotes biodiversity. Small farms are able to raise breeds of livestock that factory farms don't find profitable enough. Many of these rarer "heirloom breeds" are much more hardy and disease resistant than their commercial counterparts.
- For those of you who may be skeptical about buying meat straight from the farm, please be assured that ALL of our poultry this year will be processed in a facility that has been approved and inspected by the state of Iowa Department of Agriculture and/or the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
